News| It is not acceptable to take off clothes in the Parliament | Reommark HitsTZ

Tanzanian MPs have been warned not to take off any clothes while in parliament. Speaker Tulia Ackson gave the warning after MP Mwita Waitara took off his coat and tie during the debate. He was expressing dissatisfaction with the government's response - regarding compensation to his constituents in the mining areas. He took off the clothes while leaving the hall. According to the Speaker, he was not offended by the way he left, but he violated the parliamentary dress code, which requires formal wear inside the Parliament hall. He described his action as "discipline". "This behavior is not allowed in the parliament and should not happen again," said the Speaker of the Parliament.
